MINISTRY of Health, National AIDS Programme Secretariat (NAPS) Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) employee, Seeraj Persaud was found dead in his office on Monday.
The 42-year-old man of Lot 8 Hydronie Street, Old Road Parika, East Bank Essequibo who was described as a model worker was a VCT counselor attached to the Parika Health Centre.
His body was discovered at about 14:30 hours minus his laptop, home keys and cellular phone.
Police said that so far they observed no marks of violence on the body but have launched an investigation.
His brother, Yugoul Kumar Persaud and co-workers said Persaud seemed as though he was doing well and did not appear to have any problems.
However, NAPS National Coordinator, Ms. Deborah Success-Hall said the organisation has lost a great worker and he will be sadly missed.
A post mortem examination is expected on today.
