In a GINA bulletin issued on Monday titled ‘Guyana signals warning to Suriname in wake of inflammatory statements’, and carried in yesterday’s issue of the Guyana Chronicle, on page 9,it was inadvertently stated that Guyana has alerted several organisations of the publicly declared instructions “by the current Surinamese government” to breach international law by invading Guyana’s territory.
GINA and the Guyana Chronicle wish to advise that the section in quotation marks should read :
… “by the previous Surinamese government”.
