THE Police have said the skeletal remains found on Monday are that of Davinand Singh, 49, of Parfait Harmony, West Bank Demerara.

The discovery was made about 12:10 h, at New Hope Back Dam, East Bank Demerara.

Singh was reported missing on January 2, by a relative with whom he was staying at New Hope.

He was described as mentally unstable and had not been seen since he left the house on January1.

Police said relatives positively identified him, in thick bushes clad in black underwear, by his teeth and what was left of toe nails.

He is suspected to have suffered a nervous breakdown following domestic squabbles with his wife, over an alleged triangular love affair that caused him to move out from the matrimonial home.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
