THE Department of Education in Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam) has announced that its Children’s Calypso and Dramatic Poetry competitions will kick off Mashramani celebrations on January 25.

The Coordinator, Ms. Lorraine English, said those contests will take place in Eighth of May Community High School while the dances and masquerade rivalry will be held on January 27, at Anna Regina Community Centre ground.

English said the programme will continue January 29 with the Children’s Costume and Physical Displays at same venue.

On February 26, a colourful road march will move from Three Friends Village to Anna Regina Car Park.

Meanwhile, the Regional Administration said some private companies are expected to participate in the Mashramani Float Parade, also on Essequibo Coast.
