THE Guyana Police Force has indicated that its Police Divisional Commanders will be continuing with their ‘outreach programmes’ within communities this weekend.
The ‘outreach programmes’ result from a decision taken at the last Annual Police Officers’ Conference and is intended for Divisional Commanders to interface with members of the communities with the aim of discussing issues of mutual concern, enhancing police/community relations and improving policing arrangements within the communities.
Mr. Ivelaw Whittaker, the GPF’s Public Relations and Press Officer said that, between today and tomorrow, the respective Divisional Commanders will be meeting with members of the public as outlined below:
** 09:00 hrs (today) at the Sans Souci Primary School in Wakenaam; Divisional Commander – Snr. Supt. C. Griffith;
** 15:00 hrs (today) at South Ruimveldt Secondary School; Divisional Commander, Asst. Commissioner G. Vyphuis
** 15:00 hrs (tomorrow) at the St. Ann’s Anglican school at Agricola; Divisional Commander, Asst. Commissioner G. Vyphuis
** 15:00 hrs (tomorrow) at the Golden Grove Nursery School on the East Coast of Demerara; Divisional Commander, Asst. Commissioner B. Persaud
Members of the public in the various communities are invited to attend the meetings.
