16-foot Anaconda burnt to death

AN anaconda, 16 feet long, was killed Tuesday in the Cozier Agriculture Scheme on Essequibo Coast.

The reptile died while trapped in a grass field that was on fire, said other crops farmer Carl Roberts, who started the blaze.

He said the snake was living in some tall grass and tried to escape from the flames into a nearby drainage trench but was badly burnt and floated in the water the next morning
