THE Essequibo Technical Institute (ETI) has introduced a mentoring system as part of its human resource capacity development for all categories of employees.
A release from the institution said 14 mentors have been identified to support it and ETI Principal, Mr. Dennis Jaikaran will serve as the Chief Mentor.
He said each mentor will meet with their mentees at least thrice a week, in an effort to strengthen relationships and support each other.
According to him, such sessions will serve to relieve employees of psychological stress and allow for the establishment of close ties among staff members.
Another release from the ETI said an identification and recognition programme was recently started for all members of the Students’ Council.
It said every student will be identified by a tie, while the President of the Council, which was formed in June 2008, would wear a special tie.
Since its formation, the Council has contributed to the life and welfare of students and lecturers, the statement said. (Rajendra Prabhulall)
