THE laying of pipelines to improve the water supply system throughout the community of Fairs Rust in Mackenzie, Linden, costing some $13M, has started under financing provided by Basic Needs Trust Fund, and is expected to last approximately twelve weeks.
Last Thursday the project was officially handed over by Mr. Dikedemma Ulton, Project Engineer of Basic Needs Trust Fund, to Chairman of the Fairs Rust Community Development Council Iman Chin.
The project is expected to create jobs within the community for unemployed residents and will greatly improve pure water supply to homes in the community.
Novad Investment Company out of Georgetown was contracted to carry out the project.
The Fairs Rust Community Development Council also intends to advance efforts to other projects including the rehabilitation of the Fairs Rust Community playfield and forming a small league football team. (Joe Chapman)
