SURENDRANAUTH Persaud alias ‘Force Ripe’ was yesterday remanded to prison on a carnal knowledge charge.

Before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, he was charged, indictably with having, between March 1 and December 31, 2009, had carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 15 years.

Senior Counsel Bernard De Santos, for the Defence, who was called to the Magistrate’s Bench, said the Prosecution faces uncertainty.

He said Persaud (no address given) is married and denies the allegation but the latter was refused bail until tomorrow.
