NIZAM Rahim, 38, was yesterday sentenced to two years imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to break and enter and larceny.
Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson inflicted the custodial punishment on him for the January 5 burglary at Guyana National Printers Limited (GNPL) building from where he stole six shirts valued $11,500.
The prisoner (no address given), who was held by a security guard, said he collected a bag with the booty after one of three men dropped it.
The female guard, who was in Court, said her office called to alert her of his presence and she arrested him as he was climbing out of a window.
All that was stolen has been recovered, the Court heard.
