Police said Ho-A-Lim’s body was found in her bed with blood oozing from her mouth, while Etwaroo’s body was found hanging from a wooden beam in the same room.
Their three children are now staying with relatives and are very much traumatised by the incident.
Meanwhile, Etwaroo’s nephew, David Etwaroo, told the Guyana Chronicle that it was frustration that led to the murder/suicide.
He explained that his uncle did all sorts of jobs to provide for his family but the relationship soured when they experienced some domestic problems and were constantly fighting.
Mr. Etwaroo said that prior to the incident, Kathleen had left the home for some days and only returned the day before she was killed; and it is believed that it was then Alfred hatched a plan to end his life after murdering her.
The couple, with their children, moved to the village about four months ago.
Kathleen’s brother-in-law, Ganeshwar Sookwah, said the last time he saw the couple alive was Wednesday last week when they visited.
They were celebrating Kathleen’s birthday and the families went out and were said to be in good spirits.
