The recently opened Guyana/Venezuela Friendship Society announced that they are registering interested persons for Spanish classes free of cost.
Vice Chairwoman Karen Lambert told the Guyana Chronicle that they are located at 106 New Garden Street, Queenstown, Georgetown, in the Venezuelan Institute building.
She pointed out that registration for Spanish class begins on September 1, 2009, and there will be two sessions two days a week.
The society is geared towards supporting friendship among Guyanese and Venezuelans, and will also work closely with Guyanese and their families who reside in Venezuela.
Ms. Lambert explained that the society also support activities of people’s organisations, and will sponsor scholarships for studies in medicine in Venezuela.
She explained that the Guyana/Venezuela Friendship Society is involved in education, culture, and sports.
