Gang-up parties guided by political expediency

THE purposeful ganging up of the political opposition parties disclose the accommodation of baby parties, one-man parties and defunct parties experiencing extreme paralysis all in the feign hope of demonstrating strength in the misguided pursuit of bringing down the democratically-elected PPP/C government.

A closer look at some of the more prominent leaders – it wouldn’t be too difficult identifying the assumed front-runner who has a shameful unbridled proclivity to seek outside help – and in another case a duet with burdened hang-ups over previous political association and yet another hanging on to a defunct party, but undertaking this feeble conglomeration is the burning personal desire of power-sharing leading towards occupying some official position in a governing administration of the country.

Sadly, it is an astounding exercise in futility and a clear case of self-delusion into believing that concocted allegations will attract the attention of busy officialdom concerned with serious business affecting their respective national responsibilities.

On the question of the engineered participation that damage is being done to the credibility of the government as a result of the disclosures emanating from the New York court case of accused lawyer Robert Simels, even though President Bharrat Jagdeo has oft times repeated that his government has never officially been in engagement with drug trafficker Roger Khan, moreso in regard to the procurement of eavesdropping spy equipment.

Granted, Minister Leslie Ramsammy may be under the gun based on the sworn evidence by a self-proclaimed bandit in the court case of Simels, but surely until such time that incontrovertible evidence emerges to implicate the government. One has to be mindful in precipitately laying blame.

But so far as the ganging-up parties are concerned, they seem to have allowed themselves to be guided by political expediency.
