PERMIT me, sir, to raise some awareness of the Church of the Ascension’s Tea Party and Community Gathering, scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2009 from 2:30pm. The event, which is of its very first kind to be held in the parish, is one with a difference. So says parish priest Fr Montrose. In a short interview about the event, Fr Montrose stated that the idea of the event is to build the community at Ascension.

Visitors, he said, are most welcomed to sit, chat and enjoy an afternoon away from the hustle and bustle of their lives. He said the purpose of the tea party is to raise the level in the community. The event would be a wholesome one. The efforts put into planning the event would go as much to let people feel good whilst attending.

There would be side attractions, home- made ice- cream and other snacks on sale as well as a tea- set competition. The event would be filmed and aired on “Ascension presents” as it kicks off another season on Friday, September 4, 2009 at 6pm on Channel 8.
