EXECUTIVE Director, Mr. Leon Davis has announced that Food for the Poor will construct 77 houses at Siriki Flat Sand in lower Pomeroon. Addressing residents of Siriki, Jacklow and Abrams Creek, at a meeting in Charity Marketing Centre, he said Siriki Flat Sand was identified for the community project, because farmers living on the river banks have to be relocated to avoid flooding from rising tide levels in Pomeroon River. Intended beneficiaries have already started to clear bushes from the area where the land has been provided by Government. Charity-Urasara Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC) is overlooking the development at the location to where Davis was accompanied by Chairman of Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), Mr. Alli Baksh. Food for the Poor recently built 75 houses in Onderneeming Housing Scheme, on Essequibo Coast.
