BERBICE Regional Health Authority (BRHA) Friday pledged support to Minister of Health, Dr Leslie Ramsammy, when he visited Number 47 Health Centre, at Corentyne.

District Medical Officer, Dr M Persaud told the Minister, who was the featured speaker at the ‘Health Centre Day’ activities: “We believe in your honesty and your integrity.

We believe that the forces against you are targeting you, because you are the hardest working minister but they will fail,” Persaud told Ramsammy.

Persaud, who read from a prepared statement, added: “Your hard working staff hereby expresses our support and solidarity to you.”

The statement mentioned that the authority viewed as distasteful the burning of the Health Ministry property but vowed: “We will rise stronger.”

Also in attendance at the midday function, which highlighted the services, achievements and constraints of the centre, were Dr V. Mahadeo, Chief Medical Officer of BRHA.
