ACTING Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday sentenced Delon Boucher to two years imprisonment on a robbery conviction.
The 19-year-old prisoner, of Lot 43 Sparendaam, East Coast Demerara, pleaded guilty to robbing Osianna Ray, on July 14, of a gold chain and a cell phone, together worth $32,000.
Boucher confessed to being involved in the incident behind the Pegasus Hotel, where he choked the victim and his friends relieved her of the booty.
According to Police Inspector Denise Griffith, prosecuting, Ray and a friend were at the Seawall Band Stand when the convict and others attacked them.
She said Boucher held on to Ray and took away her belongings and the others restrained her friend.
The magistrate warned Boucher that he could have been jailed for 14 years, if he was convicted in the High Court.
