ACTING Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday refused bail to two men, both accused of carnal knowledge.

One of the remanded prisoners, Ricardo Thornhill, 60, of Nine Miles, Kwebana Road, Kumaka, Moruka, North West District, is alleged to have carnally known a 12-year-old girl on June 20.

He has to be back in Court on October 6.

The Police Prosecutor, Corporal Munilall Seetaram, said Thornhill and the victim live in the same village and know each other.

The other prisoner on remand, Mark Persaud, 28, of Lot 81 Breda Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown, is also charged indictably for committing the offence on an 11-year-old girl last July 7.

He has to make another Court appearance on July 24.
