Revival Mission Ministries evangelist on fraud charge

-Aspiring Mayor charged with obtaining money by false pretence
SELF-proclaimed evangelist and pastor of Revival Mission Ministries Mr. Ronald Hudson appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday, charged with obtaining money by false pretence.
Hudson, 39, of Lot 156 Section ‘A’, Lot ‘X’ Great Diamond, East Bank Demerara, pleaded not guilty to the allegation that on, July 8, with intent to defraud, he obtained $30,000 from Lavie Lammy, by falsely pretending that he was in a position to secure a passport for her.

Hudson, who is aspiring to be the Mayor of Georgetown, told the Court he is the Managing Director of Avec Car Rental at Pegasus Hotel as well as Director of Tropical Comfort International.

He also claimed to be an ex-policeman and a former Police instructor.

Hudson said it was his good heart and the woman’s ingratitude that got him in this predicament.

According to him, he spent a great night in the lock-ups and used the time to preach to other prisoners.

Hudson said he took Lammy to get her passport form and pictures and tried to help her because of her frustration.

He said he used his personal motor car to drive Lammy around and requested that she give him $60,000 for all he did but the woman produced $30,000 and promised the remainder later.

Police Corporal Munilall Seetaram, prosecuting, did not object to the grant and Hudson was released on self-bail until July 28, with a warning from the magistrate that his failure to return would result in an arrest warrant being issued for him.
