Robbery accused with other pending case remanded

JOEL David, 30, of Lot 6 ‘A’ Water Street, Georgetown, was yesterday remanded to prison, by Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, on a robbery with aggravation charge.

Particulars of the indictable offence said on June 8, being together with another person, he robbed Clifford Success of three gold rings valued $300,000 among other things worth a total of $331,500.

Police Inspector Denise Griffith, prosecuting, had successfully objected to bail for David stating that he has another case, of a similar nature, pending.

The Prosecutor said, if he secures the grant, it is likely the prisoner will commit more of the same crimes and not return for his trial.
David has to make his next appearance on July 28.
