– remanded to prison
PRAKESH Hemchand, 39, has been charged with using threatening language to a minor.
He appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday and admitted that, on June 14, he threatened a girl under the age of 11 years.
Police Corporal Munilall Seetaram, prosecuting, said the defendant is known to the virtual complainant, to whom he wrote a letter making sexual proposals.
The defendant (no address given) confessed, in Court, that he is helplessly in love with the child and the magistrate remanded him to prison until July 3.
Meantime, the Court ordered a probation report on the matter.
