SCORES of rice planters on Essequibo Coast are still awaiting payment for paddy sold to millers, Councillor of the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) in Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), Mr. Omesh Oditt has disclosed.

Reading a report, from the Drainage, Irrigation and Agriculture Committee, at the Tuesday statutory meeting, he said the farmers are very worried because they have not been paid and are facing financial problems.

Oditt said they need the money for land preparation and purchasing seed paddy for the Autumn crop and the issue is now engaging the attention of the RDC.
