Cellink Premier League resumes tomorrow

THE Georgetown Football Association’s (GFA) Cellink Plus Premier League will resume tomorrow with a double-header at the Tucville ground.

In the feature game which is scheduled to get under way from 20:00 h, BK International Western Tigers will face Pele, while from 18:00 h GDF take on Flamingo.

Western Tigers with three points to their name after four matches, one of which they won, will be seeking to enhance their chances of coming out on top in their year’s competition and as such will be going all out for a victory over Pele who also have three points, but from three matches, including a win.

Both teams have scored three goals each to date but Tigers conceded nine while Pele conceded four.

Tigers’ three goals were scored by Devon Millington (two) and Ned Fraser (one).

The West Ruimveldt-based Tigers will be spearheaded by Millington, Jorel Tyrell, Kevin Gordon, Shermon David, Maxwell Pellew, Dwayne Daniels and Fraser among others while Ron Liverpool will perform duties between the uprights.

Pele, on the other hand, will be heavily dependent on the likes of Marvin Joseph who scored the team’s three goals to date, along with Quincy Adams, Dirk Archer, Devon Edinboro, Solomon Austin, Travis Grant, Troy Kellman and Marvin Liverpool and custodian Kevin April.

For the opening encounter, GDF with 12 points to their name from four victories will be looking to overtake the league’s leaders Alpha United, who also have 12 points from four wins, but who have a better goal difference than the soldiers.

To date, GDF scored 11 goals and have not conceded any, while Alpha United scored 21 goals in their four matches and only conceded one.

The Army team will be spearheaded by Marlon Benjamin and Hubert Pedro who have both scored three goals each to date along with Eusi Griffith, Desford Williams, Devon Harris, Selwyn Isaacs, Ryan Adolph and Royan Morrison with Dellon Young in goal.

Flamingo, on the other hand, have one point to their name from a drawn match. They have so far conceded 16 goals and scored five.

Their attack will be led by Leon Alleyne, Dwayne Layne, Leon Hescott, Colin Martin, and Lennox Cort.
