CHAIRMAN of Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), Mr. Alli Baksh has announced that the road leading to the new dumpsite, aback of Lima and La Belle Alliance, will be developed shortly.
Addressing Toshaos of the nine Amerindian Village Councils in the Regional Boardroom at Anna Regina, he told them Monday that the Regional Administration is looking, very seriously, at the disposal of garbage on the road shoulders along the way from Anna Regina to Red Lock, Mainstay, Tapakuma, Lima Sands and Mc Babb, all on Essequibo Coast.
Baksh said, in another few weeks, the area where disposal is currently being done will be closed.
He said Anna Regina Town Council, which does not have a permanent dumpsite and has been using the road shoulders en route to Red Lock, has created an eye sore for many years.
According to Baksh, an ugly picture has also been painted for tourists who have to traverse the route towards Mainstay Resort.
