A FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD boy was yesterday put on a bond, to keep the peace for two years, after being convicted of assaulting his father.
He pleaded guilty to the charge, before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle, admitting that he committed the offence on June 3.
The teen told the Court he was in a mini-bus with his father when, following a misunderstanding, he attempted to slap the conductor but hit his father instead and the latter concurred with the explanation.
However, the magistrate informed the lad, who is a United States (U.S.) citizen on a period visit to Guyana, that if he practices that behaviour in America, he cannot do so here. (Telesha Persaud)
