A MAN was remanded and a woman granted bail when they appeared on different charges before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday.
Bryan Chung, 39, of Lot 79 DaSilva Street, Newtown, was not required to plea to the indictable carnal knowledge charge.
The allegation against him, which he will face, again, on June 12, is that he committed the offence when he carnally knew a girl under the age of 15 years, on May 31.
Nikita Dorjan, 32, of Lot 116 Barr Street, Kitty, also in Georgetown, secured the grant of pre-trial freedom, on a $15,000 bond, after she pleaded not guilty to using threatening language to Mohammed Salim, causing a breach of the peace on May 25.
The virtual complainant said the incident occurred when he moved out of the defendant’s tenanted premises and she threatened him on his requesting the return of his security deposit.
The case has been put off to June 16.
