Looks like aunt ‘Ida’ was an imposter

THE real news behind the hype is that “Ida” the supposed missing link was denounced by fellow paleontologist scientists as most likely to be an ancestor of lemurs and bush babies. The paleontologist who captured the public’s imagination was subject to professional condemnation by his fellow scientists who denounced the discovery as hype. The plot thickened when it was discovered that he paid $750,000 for “Ida” from an amateur collector who had the skeleton in his basement for the last 25 years and believed that it was a missing link in human evolution. So much for relatives of the distant past Looks like aunt ‘Ida’ was an imposter, but deserves a proper burial.
