TWO security guards appeared in Court yesterday, charged with assaulting and threatening one another.
Kwame Ferrier, 29, of Lot 282 West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, faced the charge for assault committed on Seeram Ramsudar, 55, of Lot 76 Unity, East Coast Demerara and the latter with using threatening language to the former, causing a breach of the peace.
Before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle, both offences were alleged on May 18 and the defendants each pleaded not guilty.
Ferrier said they are security guards at Medi Care Pharmacy where Ramsudar called him a ‘Black Dog’, held him by the shirt and pushed him before he threatened to burn him with acid.
Ramsudar denied calling Ferrier such a name but claimed Ferrier slapped him on his face.
Ferrier was fined $7,000 with the alternative of four months imprisonment while Ramsudar was put on $7,000 bail and his case was transferred to another Court for June 15. (Nathalene DeFreitas)
