D’Urban Park Lions walkathon raises $47,000

The D’Urban Park Lions Club last Saturday held its annual “Journey-for-Sight” walkathon through the streets of Georgetown, during which they raised $47,000.


Members of the D’Urban Park Lions Club in last Saturday’s Journey-for-Sight Walkathon in the capital city.

The walkathon was held to raise funds for eye care and intervention in the club services area.
The assembly point was the St. Sidwell’s Church tarmac on Vlissengen Road, and participating Lions began their walk proceeding south into Vlissengen Road, east into Joseph Pollydore Street, across Mandela Avenue, continuing into D’Urban Backlands, south into Takuba Road, west into Freeman Street, north into Mandela, west into Hadfield Street and south into Vlissengen Road, ending up at St. Sidwell’s Church once more.
