ROSE Hall Town Windies Sports Bar (RHTWSB), Young Warriors, West Berbice and Rose Hall/Canje advanced to the semi-final stage of the 2009 Busta Champion of Champions, organised by the Rose Hall Town Youth Sports Club after they recorded easy victories over their opponents.

At the Blairmont ground heavy rain caused the match to be reduced to 30 overs. Blairmont rattled up 174 -4 against West Berbice, who easily knocked off the runs to reach 178-5. Ramesh Budhan top-scored with 64 and got adequate support from Bisnarine Basdeo who made 54 as they posted 104 for the third wicket for Blairmont.

Bowling for West Berbice, Krisendat Ramoo, Eon Abdel, Sherwin McPherson and Keith Fraser took one wicket each. Artley Bailey’s 47 and Abdel’s 44 guided West Berbice to victory. Nedesh Basdeo and Karmadat Bissoondial took 1-48 and 1-18 respectively.

Over at Scotsburg, the organiser awarded the match to Rose Hall/Canje after Scotsburg failed to cover the pitch from excessive rain. Covers were provided by Guyana Cricket Board (GCB).

West Berbice will clash with RHTWSB at the Area ‘H’ ground and Young Warriors will be playing Rose Hall/Canje at Canje.
