RONALD Charlie, 56, of South Rupununi, was yesterday charged, before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle, for the murder of his wife, Juliet Charlie. Particulars of the capital offence said it was committed between May 8 and 9 in South Rupununi. Asked by the magistrate if he knew why he was in Court, the accused replied it was because he killed his wife. Charlie said he was under the influence of alcohol and, after he became intoxicated, he was unaware of what he was doing. He was remanded to prison and the case has been transferred to Lethem Court, also in Rupununi, for June 2.
