FOOD for the Poor (Guyana) Inc (FFTP) donated a number of buildings, including houses, to the Onderneeming Sand Pit community on Essequibo Coast recently.
The donation, worth $130M, includes 100 sanitation blocks with toilets and baths, water standpipes, a nursery school and a community centre in which are a library and a trade store, FFTP Executive Director, Mr. Leon Davis disclosed.
He said the store is to facilitate the sale of local produce by residents of the community.
According to Davis, people are now moving into the homes that were awarded them through the Housing Department, which first scrutinised their living conditions.
