Will the attacks by Stabroek News on the President ever end?

The attacks by the Stabroek news against President Bharrat Jagdeo will never end. From reading their newspaper, it is obvious in their daily columns.

I was browsing through the editorial only today (yesterday) titled Popularity and happened to notice the final few paragraphs which claimed that the president is hard-pressed to win popularity.

It highlighted the president’s saga with former first lady and the recent passing in Parliament of the presidential pension bill as the events that they consider would give him a bad mark on the popularity list.

I consider these sentiments mere Stabroek news concoctions. The first lady didn’t mention any of those allegations.

If any analysis should be done on the president to determine his level of popularity then a complete assessment of his tenure in office including his efforts to govern the country should be highlighted.

Never has Guyana been given the recognition it has received than now. It is this Country’s leader that has come up with a climate change initiatives for avoided deforestation and the Jagdeo initiative on agriculture.

He was instrumental in securing huge debt write offs from several countries putting Guyana in a better position economically.

He must be doing something good as he was selected by his fellow Caricom heads to lead discussions with the most popular leader, U.S. President Barack Obama, and very soon he will be appointed Chairman of Caricom.

Just look around right here in Guyana. He is revered at many places he visits. One only needs to look at the reaction of the masses when he is around.
