IT was a great feeling last Saturday at the Housing Ministry’s ‘One Stop Shop’ outreach to have heard and realised that the administration has made it possible for young people to have the opportunity to own a piece of land.
For many years I have been living with my parents wondering when I would be afforded the opportunity to start a family and have a property of my own.
Well today I am proud to say that,my dream of becoming a home owner will become a reality.
I can also recall the many happy faces when the Ministry announced that persons can now pay 50 percent to have the agreement of sale to take to the bank to start construction of their homes.
With this announcement too I was even taken by surprise, I never thought that this could have happened in one day.
I believe this undertaking by the Ministry to implement visionary policies will ensure more Guyanese have titles and access to their own piece of land. It sure spells development for our people and progress for our country.
To all young people out there who have not thought of owning a piece of land, this is the opportune time to ‘make hay while the sun shines’.
