Woman fined for marijuana taken home from party

YOLANDA Harry (no address given) was yesterday fined $3,000 and ordered to do two months community service for narcotic possession.

She pleaded guilty to the offence before Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton, admitting that, on April 18, she had one gramme of cannabis (marijuana).

Harry told the Court it is not a habit but she had been to a party and wanted to smoke the drug. However, she did not and it was after she returned home that she realised she still had it.

She said she put up the marijuana and, the following day, Police found it in her house.
