MOHAMED Jabar, 46, of Lot 7 Farm, East Bank Demerara has been charged with assaulting Gamanram Dasratt, 27, of Lot 89 Fifth Avenue, Subryanville, Georgetown, who faced a charge of threatening him.

They both pleaded not guilty to the April 17 offences when they appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle yesterday.

It was alleged that the assault on Dasratt took place in Bourda Market, where he is a butcher and threatened Jabar.

Jabar was ordered to post $25,000 and Dasratt $15,000, respectively, for their pre-trial liberty, pending their return to Court on June 5.
