The Guyana Amateur Swimming Association (GASA) will be hosting an Advanced Swimming Coaches’ Clinic beginning May 1.
According to a release, the 10-day clinic will be coordinated by Gerd Nottelmann of Germany who held the Intermediate Clinic here in Guyana last year.
Nottelmann has many years of experience – as a competitive swimmer, coach and lecturer – and his 2008 clinic was well organised and detailed.
Clinic hours will be all day on May 1, 2, 3, 5, 9 and 10 and in the evenings on working days.
There will be theoretical and practical sessions. Those persons who did not attend last year’s clinic will be given a brief review of what occurred last year.
The cost of the clinic will not exceed $8 000 and those persons who might be unable to pay the fee are asked to make contact with GASA’s officials.
Application forms may be collected at the Colgrain Pool, Camp Street. For more information, interested persons can contact GASA’s vice-president (Technical) Nicholas Fraser or secretary, Karen Pilgrim.
