“CBS” adventure reality show “The Amazing Race” is one with a difference that contributes to the subject area of Geography/Tourism and those selected destinations on the show could be doing well for potential travellers from around the world. I see this television broadcast helping in many ways towards “Tourism Development” in other parts of the world and this could become a channel that CARICOM Member States can give some consideration towards in the very near future. I stress on a collective CARICOM body because this venture will need serious financial backings. On the other hand, if the prominent members of THAG can collectively undertake such a venture with some sponsors. An approach to “CBS” with a proposal would definitely not be a bad decision. It is my belief that these persons are in a much stronger position with the resources and accessibility and sometimes one has got to take the bull by its horns when you really need to achieve a goal. There is absolutely nothing to loose, but simple using marketing skills in selling “Guyana” as a future destination during one of their shows. Another option could be another approach to “NBC, The Morning Show” with hosts Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira. Annually, there is a segment “Where in the world is Matt Lauer” that focuses on selected destinations which are usually highlighted by Matt Lauer and again, go sell Guyana.
