– To perform as part of ‘Emmanuella’ Caribbean tour
LOCAL comedians Lyndon ‘Jumbie’ Jones and Leza ‘Radica’ Singh will take their raw, natural Guyanese talent to the British Virgin Islands (BVI) this weekend, and then to St. Kitts the following weekend, to perform as part of the ‘Emmanuella’ Caribbean tour.
Jumbie and Radica, the only two local comedians booked for the tour, will be performing in Tortola on Saturday night, and will make their way to St. Kitts for a performance the following Saturday.

Jumbie is especially excited that Guyana is now being represented at various Caribbean comedy shows, which to him, only started happening recently.
In an interview with the Buzz, he expressed that, to him, it seems that while the Guyanese talent has been there all along, people simply did not know how good the local performers are. Now, though, hardly does a Caribbean comedy show go down without participation from Guyana.
Jumbie said he likes to extend the opportunity to perform overseas to various persons, and not just keep those privileges to himself. To date, he has helped several persons to reach their full potential in the field. Many, for instance, who were hesitant about performing a stand-up comedy, are now some of the best that country has to offer.
Jumbie, who has decades of experience in the Guyana’s acting fraternity, especially likes to focus his attention on helping those whom he sees with a lot of talent.
Meanwhile, the cast of Mark Angel Comedy performed here in Guyana some time ago during their tour of the Caribbean. Mark Angel, a Nigerian video producer, is best known for the Mark Angel Comedy series, which usually features child comedians, including his niece, nine-year-old Emmanuella Samuel and five-year-old ‘Aunty Success.’
Jumbie had hosted the “Emmanualla for Emancipation” show at the National Cultural Center, which also included Kingsley, Amanda, Denilson, Uzoma and little Success.
‘Square Off’

Jumbie and a team from Guyana only returned a few days ago from performing at the ‘Square Off’ Comedy Show in Trinidad on Nov 23, that carried as its tantalising tagline, “Chicken Curry versus Curry Chicken.”
“We represented really well. We like when people throw down, and fall out their chairs and so. We didn’t really get that, but they laughed all throughout our performances,” he expressed. He is happy that by performing at this show, the team received two additional bookings for the future.

Jumbie said he saw the best ever performance from Chris Gopaul at the show. “He had the crowd, and the crowd couldn’t stop cheering for him,” he said, noting that the same held true for Mark ‘Chiney Man’ Kazim. “The two of them took the night.”
Renowned Trinidadian comedians Learie Joseph and De Saint, who also perfoermed at the show, will be coming to perform in Guyana at “Uncensored” to be held on December 28 and 29.
Some of the biggest names in local comedy and entertainment performed at the show in Trinidad, including Michael ‘Credit’ Ignatius, and Clemencio Goddette.
