The annual Baptist Convention and Youth Rally is set for today at the National Cultural Center (NCC) and the youths are excited.
Hundreds of young people from across the country will be coming together for this event which aims to provide fun and uplifting activities that will keep them connected and grounded.
The road march kicks off at the 1 PM from the Baptist convention center on Brickdam proceeding to the NCC where a massive gospel rally will be held immediately after the march has concluded.
One of the coordinators of the event, Gifford Marshall told ‘The Buzz’ that the National Steel Orchestra, Samuel Medas, Nicasey Gordon and much more talented young people will be performing.
Exciting cannot adequately describe what is in store for the young people, he said.
Marshall explained that the activity will see participants from different churches from the East Coast Linden, Berbice, Bartica and other regions in Guyana. He said that over 30 churches will be sending representatives to participate.
Additionally, this annual activity is geared towards building their capacity to host one of the grandest event in 2022.
“Guyana will be hosting the Baptist Caribbean Youth Festival in 2022. The Caribbean Youth Festival, all the Baptist churches in the Caribbean send young people for fellowship and other activities. So this Convention and rally is helping us build momentum for 2022,” Marshall said.
All young people’s attendance are being sought, as the activity is not only for Baptist youths.
