LODGE Secondary School sent an early warning to those schools that have their eyes set on the prize of the Milo U18 Schools’ football tournament.
The side steamrolled St. Mary’s secondary 6-0 as the annual tournament continued on Sunday at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue.
Shemroy Meyers brace in the 18th and 47th lead the charge as the Lodge side absolutely outplayed their opponents.
There were also single strikes for Marcus Bamfield (30th), Leroy Sealy (32nd), Nickolas Trotman (52nd) and Triston Louisey (64th).
The day’s opening fixture was a drawn encounter between President’s College and Marian Academy.
Marian scored first through Ridel Hernandez and it was a tooth and nail battle for the President’s College side to bring things level
Eventually, Keron Solomon (55th) brought things level and it was a back and forth battle for the lead.
When the final whistle went, the score line still read 1-1
Canjie were also winners on the day as they overcame South Ruimveldt 1-0 thanks to Omar Glenn
The tournament is also sponsored by the Ministry of Public health under its stop gender based violence campaign and will continue this weekend.
