ANSA McAL has honoured several outstanding employees at their recent Annual Staff Social and Awards ceremony held at the Parc Rayne Hall, Rahaman’s Park, East Bank Demerara.

The beverage and pharmaceutical giant in a release said 18 employees with five years of service, nine with 10 years of service, one with 15 years of service and three with 20 years of service were recognised for their contributions to the company. David Lowe, who retired last year, was also recognised for his 19 years with Ansa McAL.

Padma Kunjbeharry, Diana Ally, Atina Samad and Kenisha Wills of the P&G team won the Employees of the Year Award; Shawn McKay (Gold), Vekanand Mathur (Silver), and Don Rohee (Bronze) copped the Sales Person of the Year Award, while Leon Johnson walked away with the Outstanding Sales Performance award.

The Outstanding Performance Award for 2018 went to Kevin Marshall for contributing significantly to cost savings in repairs and maintenance for the company. Notably, the company said, several employees won the Spirit of ANSA Award.

The release also noted that Ansa McAL used this year’s programme to honour some of the country’s best nurses. On October 16, the company marked 25 years of operations in Guyana and as part of those celebrations, it launched a Silver Anniversary Awards Programme for the best teacher, nurse and police officer in Guyana for 2018.

The aim was to recognise and support the contributions of key public servants in Guyana for performance beyond the call of duty, personality and excellence within their fields.

“At the end of 2018, with the help of the Guyana Nurses Association, six nurses were selected and recognised by AMTL for their outstanding work in the public sector. They are Kim Angus Dennis, Donnett Graham-Gullin, Lisa Grant-Williams, Nadine Adams, Simone Tieschmaker and Nalisha Murray.

The winners were each presented with certificates and prizes of $50,000 by the company’s Managing Director Troy Cadogan,” the release said.
The Staff Social and Awards Ceremony was attended by board members, key brand representatives and employees of all its various divisions.
