THE Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTYSC) has seen the renewal of its contract with Bakery giants, Bakewell for the seventeen consecutive year.The Georgetown based business giant would be pumping $230,000.00 in the Club’s Under 17 and Second Division teams for 2016.
Bakewell will also during the year, co-sponsor the RHTYSC annual youth magazine, annual cricket academy, annual awards ceremony, charity outreach programmes, educational summer camp and sponsor the annual Naem Nasir 5 overs Memorial cricket tournament.
Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster hailed Bakewell as one of RHTYSC main foundation of success and describe the Company as one the Club’s best friends.
Quoting former Patron of the Club, MS. Beverly Harper, the long standing Secretary/CEO stated that the RHTYSC was a small Club from a small community doing great things and creating miracles.
Bakewell, Foster stated has been sponsoring the two teams since the year 2000 and over the years have won a combined eight Berbice Championships and numerous local tournaments.
The Second Division team is currently waiting to play the semi-finals of the NBS 40 overs tournament while the Under 17 team is also waiting for the long delayed Under 17 Berbice wide quarter finals.
General Manager of Bakewell, Rajin Ganga stated that Bakewell has never regretted its sponsorship of the Club and has watched on in admiration as the RHTYSC has transformed itself as the leading youth and sports organisation in Guyana.
The Bakewell brand has received major promotion via the cricket teams and he offered congratulations to the RHTYSC on being awarded a national award – The Medal of Service by the Government of Guyana for its outstanding contribution to the development of our beloved country.
The Bakewell under-17 team in 2016 will be led by national junior cricketer Kevlon Anderson with Keith Simpson as his deputy, while Major James Fraser leads the Second Division team with Anderson as his deputy. Keith Hicks and Ravindranauth Kissoonlall will perform the duties of Manager.
