On the back of another fine batting display by Jonathan Van-Lance, Mae’s Primary overcame Stella Maris Primary in the final of the East Georgetown Zone of the Scotiabank Kiddy Progression One Cricket.Winning the toss and batting first, Mae’s Primary compiled 130-4 in 14 overs as Van-Lance followed his match winning knock of 42 in the semi-final with an unbeaten 43. He was well assisted by J. Honkirk, who contributed 26 and O. Percival with 25, while Antonio Williams and D’Angelo Hall had a wicket each for Stella Maris.
In reply, Stella Maris were restricted to 96-5 when their 14 overs expired as the Mae’s Primary bowlers showed good control stifling the batsmen throughout the chase. Williams was the main contributor with the bat as he turned in 28 while a collective bowling effort by Mae’s brought five bowlers a wicket each.
