REVON Austin, 23, of Lot 466 Canvas City, Wismar, Linden, was Monday slapped with four charges before Chief Magistrate, Priya Sewnarine- Beharry.
He denied the first that said, on October 1 at One Mile Public Road, Wismar, he drove motorcycle CG 6271 in a dangerous manner causing the death of Newbern Charles.

The defendant pleaded guilty to the second which said, the same day at One Mile Public Road, Linden, he drove the motorcycle without third party insurance.
Austin pleaded not guilty, as well, to the third allegation that, on the same day, he drove the motorcycle while the fitness was not in force and he acknowledged that he was not the holder of a driver’s licence.
Police Sergeant, Vernetta Pindar, prosecuting, told the court that, around 20:45 hrs, the defendant was riding CG 6271 at a fast rate along the western side of the One Mile Public Road when he struck two pedestrians on the roadside.
The prosecutor said Charles was admitted in an unconscious state to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) while Henry Belgrave was treated and sent home.
The prosecutor said investigations showed that the defendant was not the holder of a driver’s licence and Charles later succumbed to the injuries he suffered.
Austin was granted $150,000 bail on the dangerous driving charge and $50,000 each for the other offences, until January 14, 2014.
Attorney-at-law, Mr. Michael Somersall, for the defence, said the defendant was driving when a dog ran across the road and he tried to swerve from it but ended up in a trench.
