THE Guyana Police Force’s Immigration Department has announced that several passport offices across the country will operate on Saturdays throughout June to facilitate the issuance of passports to applicants whose processing dates have already passed.
According to a public notice issued by the department, the special arrangement will take effect from Saturday, June 6, 2026, with offices opening from 09:00 hours to 15:00 hours exclusively for persons with overdue passport collection dates.
The initiative is aimed at improving service delivery and reducing the backlog of uncollected passports by providing additional opportunities for applicants to receive their travel documents outside of regular working hours.
Authorities are urging eligible applicants to take advantage of the Saturday openings and visit the relevant offices to collect their passports.
The move comes amid continued efforts by the Guyana Police Force’s Immigration Department to enhance access to passport services and improve efficiency in the processing and distribution of travel documents.
Passport offices that will be open on Saturdays in June include: Lethem Passport Office, Linden Passport Office, Georgetown Passport Office, New Amsterdam Passport Office, Government Service Centre, Leonora, Government Service Centre, Anna Regina, Government Service Centre, Port Mourant, and Government Service Centre, Fort Wellington.
Officials have advised that the Saturday service is intended solely for the issuance of passports to persons whose collection dates have already passed and does not apply to new passport applications.
