GUYANA is exploring opportunities to strengthen ties with Qatar in the areas of air connectivity, trade and education following high-level engagements with senior Qatari officials.
Discussions were held with Qatar Airways Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer Hamad Al Khater on the possibility of establishing Guyana as a route for both passenger and cargo services.

Separately, a meeting was held with Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bin Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of the Qatar Foundation (QF), followed by a tour of the Foundation’s campus, also known as the Education City

The engagement forms part of efforts to expand Guyana’s international connectivity and create new opportunities for the movement of people and goods between the two countries.
Separately, a meeting was held with Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bin Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of the Qatar Foundation (QF), followed by a tour of the Foundation’s campus, also known as the Education City.
Sheikha Hind and the Qatar Foundation are recognised for their work in education and empowerment, particularly initiatives aimed at supporting women in Qatar and internationally.
The engagements highlight opportunities for Guyana to deepen co-operation with Qatar across aviation, education and human development.
