MARK Anthony Henry, 24, who was wanted by police for questioning in relation to the alleged murder of 68-year-old Sooroojdeo Deochand, known as “Sarjie” surrendered to police on Wednesday.

Henry of Lot 32 South Public Road, Mon Choisi, West Coast Berbice, turned himself in at CID Headquarters, Eve Leary, Georgetown. He was accompanied by his lawyer and was arrested as investigations continue.
Deochand’s blood-stained body was found inside his Number Three Village, West Coast Berbice (WCB) house on Tuesday last.
Initial reports indicated that the pensioner was found in an unconscious state in his house by his niece and other relatives, who immediately summoned the police.
According to reports, officers responded promptly to the call, and, upon arrival at the pensioner’s house, they found him in a pool of blood.
The officers later escorted Deochand to the Fort Wellington Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead by a doctor on duty.
