THE 26th edition of the Ricks and Sari 11-race cycling programme will pedal off tomorrow at the inner circuit of the National Park. This will signal the start of the 2019 cycling season.
Organised by long-standing stalwart and national cycling coach, Hassan Mohamed, the meet will see the return of the crème de la crème of the country’s cyclists who will all be eager to start the year on a high note.
Last year’s winner of the feature Schoolboys and Invitational 35-lap event was Trojan PSL’s Curtis Dey who topped an experienced field to take the top podium spot in one hour 12 minutes 51.31 seconds. He won ahead of Romello Crawford, Orville Hinds, Junior Niles, Kemuel Moses and Andre Green.
Meanwhile, the top Junior cyclist was Briton John with Junior Niles winning the U-50 Veterans’ event, Jonathan Ramsuchit was the victor in the Boys and Girls 12-14 BMX event while Shane Bond copped the Mountain Bike race.
