BASED on the improved drainage conditions at the Lusignan Golf Club, officials have confirmed that the Grand Coastal Hotel Golf Classic will tee-off tomorrow from 08:30hrs.

The much-anticipated tournament was billed for April but was postponed due to the inclement weather.

The Grand Coastal Classic tournament is open to all golfers in Guyana (members and non-members) who feel that they can take on the challenge of the ‘Green Anaconda’ as the Lusignan Golf Club is proposed to be branded.

Non-members who are welcome to participate are required to pay a nominal tournament fee which covers the green fee, lunch and a caddie for the 18-hole tournament.

Non-members can make contact with the Club at 220-5660 or 668-7419 to receive information on how to register to play in this tournament.

Up for grabs in this weekend’s tournament are prizes for 1st to 4th Best Net scores, the Best Gross score, a Longest Drive (off a designated tee-box),  and the Nearest to a designated Pin. (The flagpole placed in the hole on the Green is called a Pin.)

Once again, the public is invited to freely witness this tournament and enjoy the ambience of the improved Lusignan Golf Course.
